Penelope Shuttle wrote a poem called Running out of Time.
I’ll read it to you.
Running Out Of Time
I was running out of time
or time was running out of me
I was no longer
decades of clear water
Time
was a cache of lions,
the end of all the birds
I was hurrying to catch up with Time,
while Time stayed home
doing the ironing,
folding his minutes,
smoothing his hours,
soon there’d be not a crumpled second
for me to hide in

Practicing astrology is like falling in love with time itself, and I will never get tired of that.
That’s my Venus/Saturn talking:
Love and Time
Is time moving faster and faster?
What sign posts do you use?
Are they whirring past you?
While you, held in place, struggle to move?
Time to cut the cord on a thing or two.
This Moon is Active, Impulsive, Concerned and Under Pressure.
Relationships hang in the balance again.
We are backing in to some uncompleted changes.
Fix it?
Fix it or drop it.
Virgo moon is often tied up in worry, I have Neptune in aspect to mine, so I use wishful thinking or escape to erase my fears. It helps that my Moon is also in aspect to Jupiter and my Ascendant. I’m grounded in hope.
My youngest child has Virgo Moon/Jupiter in harsh aspect to Pluto, she fears the worst.
The worst does sometimes happen, but not as often as she thinks about it.
Virgo wants to make sense of: to categorize, to systematize, to make literal, to translate: to understand.
I’ll always be able to understand reality more than I will be able to say what I know about it. To describe reality, I often think we draw a circle around it. We paint what’s closest, with the colors most like.
I’ll always be striving for coherence, finding new ways to describe the indescribable, while letting go on a deeper and more complex level of the need to be understood.
I see the need to be understood as a very Virgo phenomenon, Virgo has Leo in the 12th house, for Virgo the need for approval or acceptance can be your undoing.
When you release your contract with your audience, do you keep your contract with the divine?
What is the original purpose of Art?
It’s good to take the measure of how you really feel, and what you really think.
Not what you are supposed to think.
This Moon will help you with that.
Can you release your end of the contract?
And yet, isn’t being understood the best feeling?
We liken it to being seen.
Who wants to be seen, and who does not?
You have to feel alright about who you are, in order to accept a witness you can not control.
How often do you do that?
Let yourself be seen as you are and let the chips fall where they may. (as the saying goes)
If someone you love paints you as you are not, how deeply does it cut your soul?
On how many levels is that a crime?
How often do you reduce those around you to aspects or attitudes?
A sketch
The essence of Virgo is helping, caring for, tending, editing, crafting, husbanding,( how is it that we have no word for wifing?) husband only, but you get the idea. Also, Virgo makes the material conceptual, magician style. From plants to medicine, from books to library: a reference, a context, a pattern that creates meaning… A strong Virgo completes the puzzle, a weak one weeps at the pieces.
It may be that there is a lot we can finally take care of here.
A bit of necessity comes along with it.
We organize it because we have to. At last, a framework.
It’s easy enough to say the die is cast and it’s all over except for the crying, but this is a New Moon and not a Full one, so maybe once again it’s a moment of sorting through our own processes, coming to our own diagnoses.
How many tipping points do we have to have in relationships to consider them tipped?
A revolution or overturning of your values based on pattern recognition. The big changes arrive with our Eclipses in October and November, but we won’t make it through those hoops if we don’t practice our jumps NOW.
Deep talks with yourself or someone else?
Deep talks, or just as likely snap conclusions that have been a very long time coming. Because as Big Freedia says “You already know”
Oliver Sacks says
– Every act of perception is to some degree an act of creation, and every act of memory is to some degree an act of imagination.-
Shad Helmstetter writes:
-After examining the philosophies, the theories, and the practiced methods of influencing human behavior, I was shocked to learn the simplicity of that one small fact: You will become what you think about most; your success or failure in anything, large or small, will depend on your programming – what you accept from others, and what you say when you talk to yourself.
… Neither luck nor desire has the slightest thing to do with it. It makes no difference whether we believe it or not. The brain simply believes what you tell it most. And what you tell it about you, it will create. It has no choice.-
If you live long enough, the ideas that those doctors describe, these ideas are unavoidable, and yet I wouldn’t exactly say we, each one of us, are in complete charge of our realities.
BUT we are not -not in charge- either.
Maybe the greater WE the -WE- that is every single thing with nothing left out, The -WE- that we try to act in concert with.
In concert with, playing the same, or complementary music.
WE is a lot of something. A lot of mystery, if you’re me.
As we breathe in now, let’s feel that we are inseparable from each other, from the limitless power of all creation. Every molecule within us is in motion, and inseparable from every molecule that surrounds us. As you breathe in now, air enters your body and becomes your body. I’m so glad you are alive and breathing here with us.
Love YOU!!!
